IMPHAL: Three have been promoted to the Manipur State League for the2009-10 season. Manipur Brothers Sporting Union, Wahengbam Leikai and Anouba Imagi Mangal have performed well enough in the district leagues to gain promotion to the main state league, which is part of the AFC Vision India Project Manipur programme.
It will be the fourth edition of the league in a state that boasts football as its number one sport.
Manipur is one of four Vision India projects along with Delhi, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Football-strong states Goa and West Bengal are also set to join.
