Nisa top as Manipur league resumes

MANIPUR: North Imphal Sporting Association (Nisa) have moved to the top of the Manipur State League after defeating Trugpu 3-0.

Nisa have 27 points to top the table ahead of Manipur Police and Southern Sporting Union, both with 24 points each.

Ng Rabi, O. Pritam and N. Jimmy were on target for Nisa as the league resumed from last year after an extended break.

Manipur is part of the AFC’s Vision India development programme along with Delhi, Kerala and Tamilnadu. Strong football states Goa and West Bengal are also set to join them this year.

The Manipur State League is one of many initiatives that go with Project Manipur and includes education courses for coaches, referees and administrators.
