Chilled weather and drizzle favor the northeastern side. Mizoram’s Michael (16) in the 12th minutes of the game nearly found the equalizer with an elegant short from the edge of the box. A little later Michal again missed an open net with a solo effort. The equalizer came in the 22nd minutes of the game when Michael scored a brilliant from a cross from Lalnuntluanga (22). Adding on the lead in the score card Michal’s placement again in the 30th minutes passed the Vasco keeper Angelo (21). Coming back strongly from 1-2, Vasco’s Angelo Colaco (6) in the 32nd minutes equalize the score from a long range shot from 50 yard which skidded and pass the keeper. The score till the half line remained draw 2-2.
Vasco in the second half gear up their momentum. In the early minutes of the 2nd half Andrew (23) missed a net from the danger zone crossed by Aniket (7) from the right plank. Vasco kept good ball possession and executed lovely football. Putting the pressure on, Agnelo (6) fired a fierce from the edge of the box which just scaled above the top bar. A miss pass from Aizawl keeper Kenneth Malawmthang (25) nearly cost expensive when his pass found Vasco’s Agnelo but he could not materialize the chance. Aizawl turning the game upside down, Lalbiakhlua (18) the second substitute slotted a goal in the 90th minutes of the game which sealed the victory for the Mizoram for the first time in the tournament.
