On debut, Keita is Pune FC Player of the Year

Pune: Pune FC held its second annual Awards Night on Friday in the city. The awards, given to both the senior team and junior team, were a total of ten in number and included a cash prize and a trophy. This was the first time that awards were distributed to the junior team members.

At the ceremony, which was held at Vits Hotel, Balewadi, Guinean striker Keita Mandjou, currently in his début season for Pune FC, walked away with the top prize. Keita, who has netted 11 goals for the team so far this season, was bestowed with two honours - the 'Pune FC Player of the Year' award and the 'Player's Player award, for which he was nominated by the entire team.

Meanwhile, left winger Gurjinder Kumar, who like Keita joined Pune FC this season, won the ‘Best Under-23 Player’ and Mizoram-born David Lalbiakzara, who joined Pune FC as recently as February this year, was adjudged ‘Best Player (Under-19)’.
