Nagaland cops enter semis

Guwahati, Sept. 15 : Nagaland Police this evening booked a semi-final berth in the Bordoloi Trophy, upsetting favourites Md. Sporting of Calcutta 3-0 in the tiebreaker at the Nehru Stadium here after regulation time ended in a goalless draw.
The Calcutta team played a listless game with captain Jothi Kumar missing two close opportunities. Dipendu Biswas and Gautam Thakur also squandered chances.
The Nagaland policemen played a fast and co-ordinated game but could not score.
However, they found their saviour in goalkeeper Zuthungo, who made three consecutive saves to send the Calcutta outfit out of the coveted meet. Nagaland police will take on Oil India Ltd in the second semi-final on Wednesday.
Tomorrow, ASEB will play Peerless in the first semi-final.
