Youth humble Yaiskul Athletic

Imphal, Aug. 25: Youth Development Organisation handed Yaiskul Athletic Club a humiliating 5-1 goal defeat in the 10th S. Birendra Singh Super Division Football League Tournament at Thangmeiband Athletic Union ground here today.
Forward L. Gogocha Singh drew first blood for Youth Development in the 3rd minute of play. The Youth Development men continued to dominate the proceedings, giving their Yaiskul opponents little breathing space.
Anthony Kabui of Youth Development, inflicted further damages as he netted two more goals in the 9th and 19th minutes of the game to lead 3-0 in the first half.
Resuming in the second, Youth Development bettered their position further as Paolin Kabui joined the party with his salvo in the 55th minute. Gogocha Singh netted his team’s fifth goal in the 77th minute of the match.
Yaiskul Athletic players could not keep up with their opponents and seemed toothless in the game. However, in the 68th minute, N. Shyam Singh pulled in his best efforts to shoot home the lone goal for his team.
In another match today, Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation inflicted a 3-1 goal defeat on Thangmeiband Athletic Union.
Thangmeiband Athletic got the crowd cheering when N. Joykumar Singh brought up the opening goal in the 8th minute of the match. They maintained their lead for some time, but the undaunted Dimapur Road team waited for the crucial opening to equalise the score and never let their guard down. They found the equaliser in the 24th minute, when R. Raman Kom netted the ball.
Man Bahadur ruffled the net for the lead just four minutes later and Premananda Singh wrapped up the match with the third goal in the 79th minute.
Kuki Sporting Club, in another match, got the better of Sagolband United by 2-1 goals.
Joseph engineered the lead for Sagolband United from a penalty goal in the 14th minute to control the first half. However, Kuki Sporting Club hit back in the second half as Limkhosang (79) and Seijalal Haokip (82) found the net for the win.

Sena Athletic Organisation defeated Indo-Myanmar Road Sports & Cultural Association by 5-3 goals in the 6th Ksh. Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division Football League played at Kakching here today.
