Imphal, March 28 : Manipur Brothers Sporting Union drubbed Social Sporting Club, Sekta 6-0 in the 1st Hijam Irawat Invitation Football Tournament at Eastern Shine Public ground at Moreh in Manipur’s Chandel district.
In a Group B match today, Manipur Brothers Sporting Union took the lead in the 27th minute, as Dhanajit Singh scored the first goal and Prashanjit Singh consolidated the lead with another goal in the 38th minute to double the lead.
Manipur Brothers Sporting Union scored their third goal in the 51st minute.
Manipur Brothers bulldozed their way to the 6-0 win.
In other matches played today, Raju Singh scored twice in Anouba Imagi Mangal, Kontha Khabam’s 2-1 win over Ipsa Yumnam Leikai.
The lone goal for Ipsa Yumnam Leikai came from L. Boby Singh in the second half. Chajing Inat Kanba Lup blanked out hosts Meitei Council Moreh 3-0.
Michael and Khup Vaiphei scored a goal each in the first half, while L. Sajan Singh scored the third goal in the 46th minute.

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) convened an emergency meeting of the tournament committee of the ongoing 2nd Dilip Sarmah Trophy Inter-district School (under-15) Cricket Tournament, following the disclosure that the entire team from Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Nazira (playing in the Nagaon leg) is overaged, reports our bureau.
