The tournament was inaugurated by Bharat Chandra Nath, Hon’ble Minister of sports for Assam. Group A had Assam Police (Blues) defeating Salbagan Sports Club 3-0, while ASEB trounced 9th APBN 6-2. The Group B matches had Oil India coming better of Moran Town Club 3-0 and Assam Rifles scoring a thumping 5-0 victory over FCI.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final round and champion club of the league will qualify for the Federation Cup qualifiers and the team placed at the bottom of the table will be relegated to the Assam Clubs Championship.
Group A: Assam State Electricity Board, Assam Police (Blues), 9th APBN and Salbagan Sports Club.
Group B: Oil India, Food Corporation of India, Moran Town Club and Assam Rifles
